FET Micro-Qualifications: Green Skills for Business

FET micro-qualifications help employees and employers boost their awareness of the key environmental sustainability issues and equip them with the skills to make a positive contribution to sustainability in the workplace

Who is it for?

Employers who want to upskill their employees in environmental sustainability.

You may be eligible if:

  • You are a small to medium size business

What do you get?

Green skills FET micro-qualifications include:

  • Environmental Sustainability in the Workplace (Level 5 on NFQ)
  • Lean Practice for Sustainable Business (Level 5 on NFQ)
  • Resource Efficiency for Sustainability (Level 5 on NFQ)
  • The Circular Economy in the Workplace (Level 6)
  • Sustainable Supply Chain Procurement (Level 5 on NFQ)
  • Digital Assisted Eco-Driving (Level 5 on NFQ)
  • Environmental Sustainability Awareness (Level 4 on NFQ)

FET micro-qualifications are delivered locally and flexibly under the Skills to Advance initiative by the 16 Education and Training Boards (ETBs) nationwide. They are available in in person, online with tutor support, and/ or in a blended format, at little or no cost.

Other programmes available under the Skills to Advance initiative include NZEB – Nearly Zero Energy Building.

Courses include: NZEB Fundamental Awareness, NZEB Ventilation, NZEB Retrofit Skills, NZEB External Wall Installation, NZEB Air Tightness and Vapour Control Installer, and NZEB for Site Supervisors.


What can it be used for?

Green Skills programmes are accredited by Quality and Qualifications (QQI) Ireland and awards are available at Levels 4, 5 and 6 on the National Framework of Qualifications.
